SPROUT was presented as the first study at the MOVINGBODIES festival 2019 in Turin and is a work born from the remains of a choreography.

From a previous path of research on a point of contact between Butoh and Contemporary Dance, pursued by traversing the theme of memory – personal, collective, biological, cellular, ancestral – and choreographed for a trio, a solo emerged out of necessity, which finds itself with the fragmented remains of those images. In its first draft, it was born with a spatial constraint: the impossibility of moving from where one is, like a sprout, which, remaining in the same place, transforms and evolves to explore the space of immobile mobility.

Now, removing even this constraint, there remains the need to go and find something, which I know I have left somewhere. On some wall, in my pocket or hanging in the air. What remains is the wonder at how many joints my body is composed of, and how many threads can be pulled and how many strings touched.
